Counselling for Men
Finding your footing again
If you've never quite gotten around to it — there's probably a reason.
Most men who end up here didn't wake up one day excited to talk about their feelings. Raised to handle things themselves, asking for help can feel like failing. And then there's the quiet worry underneath: that opening the door to what you're carrying means not knowing how to close it again.
That doesn't make you broken — just human.
Here are some of the more common ones — not diagnoses, just as things a lot of men are quietly dealing with:
Carrying it all and not knowing how to stop — the pressure to be the steady one, the provider, the one who doesn't fall apart, even when you're running on empty
Anger that shows up sideways — short fuse, shutting down, going cold — often standing in for things underneath it that are harder to name
Disconnection in relationships — partners or kids saying you feel distant, and not knowing how to close that gap, or even fully understanding it yourself
Numbness or feeling stuck — going through the motions, doing what's expected, without much sense of where any of it is going
Things from years ago that never got dealt with — old injuries, losses, or experiences that got filed away because there wasn't time or space to deal with them then
Addiction or coping habits that have gotten bigger than you meant them to — ways of managing stress that started working and started costing more than they gave back
If any of this sounds familiar, you're not the outlier you might think you are. You're just one of a lot of men who don't usually say so out loud.
Every problem has a context and a history.
How it works
This isn't therapy that asks you to perform vulnerability on cue or explain your feelings like it's a foreign language. It's a place to actually work — at your pace, in a format that fits how you operate. Sessions can be in-office, outdoors, or online. Some men do better sitting across from someone in a room. Others find it easier to talk while moving. We'll find what works for you.
If a group setting fits better than one-on-one, you're also welcome at the Men's Fire Circle — a monthly outdoor group where men work through the real stuff - together.
"Look within.
Within is the fountain of good, and it will ever bubble up, if thou wilt ever dig."
— Marcus Aurelius, Meditations
